Young Recitalist Competition
A second-level competition is held for music students up to 18 years of age who can prepare a solo piece demonstrating artistic nuance, technical skill and musicality.

Regulations
Competition is open to instrumentalists up to 18 years of age as of January 1, 2024 who
reside in Castro Valley, Dublin, Fremont, Hayward, Livermore, Milpitas, Newark, Pleasanton, San Ramon, Sunol or Union City, and
are able to play from memory a solo piece up to ten minutes in length* that demonstrates artistic nuance, technical skill and musicality.
Judges will select up to ten finalists to perform their audition pieces in a widely publicized recital on April 21st, 2024. Each finalist will receive a certificate recognizing his or her achievement.
*An excerpt from a longer work is acceptable.

Auditions
Auditions will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at First United Methodist Church, 2950 Washington Blvd., Fremont.
Specific audition times will be assigned after the application deadline.
