Then savor the event finale, when our musicians join in a full-ensemble performance of Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition, later adapted for symphonies by Maurice Ravel. This intimate, behind-the-scenes concert offers a rare chance to connect deeply with the artistry of Bay Phil musicians and enjoy incredible music.

Judy Lam, Conductor

Judy Lam is a dedicated educator who devotes herself to serving the community with the gift of music. Under the auspices of Bay Philharmonic (formerly Fremont Symphony Orchestra), the Bay Philharmonic Youth Orchestra (formerly Fremont Youth Symphony Orchestra) was founded under Judy’s Direction in 2016.

As the youth orchestra’s Artistic Director and an active member in the Board of Directors, Judy collaborated with Maestro Jung-Ho Pak in the annual Journey to the Symphony side-by-side concerts combining the Bay Philharmonic professional and youth orchestras. These concerts successfully provide the youth musicians with the invaluable experience performing alongside the professional musicians which is most educational and inspirational.

Judy’s lifelong passion is to nurture young musicians not only in performance excellence but also to become contributing members for our community. It gives Judy great joy and pride to partner with her students and award-winning chamber youth musicians in supporting various good causes in our community.

Judy was recognized for her achievements and contributions impacting the arts community and residents, and thus, was honored to be a past recipient of the Alameda County Arts Commission Leadership Award.
