Celebrating Our Fremont Roots and 60 Years of Music

Our CRESCENDO! Gala was an evening of celebration, connection, and gratitude as we marked 60 years of the Bay Philharmonic. We were especially honored to welcome Fremont Mayor Raj Salwan and recognize the city’s enduring place in our story.
During the evening, Mayor Salwan presented a proclamation recognizing the Bay Philharmonic’s contributions and service to the East Bay community. This recognition celebrates the musicians, supporters, volunteers, and leaders who have helped bring people together through music across six decades.
Our journey began 60 years ago and grew into the Fremont Symphony. Since then, our reach has grown further to serve communities throughout the East Bay. As we continue to expand, Fremont remains an important part of our identity. We are proud of those roots and grateful to the community that helped establish the foundation for everything we do today.
Mayor Salwan also presented a Certificate of Recognition honoring our leadership team: Dr. Diana Engel-Holmes, Cecilia Caparas Apelin, Gregory S. Green, Marcella Schantz, Judy Lam, Shelby Foster, Dr. Francis Rojas, Dr. Jane K. Brown, and Colton Michael. We appreciate this acknowledgment of their dedication to our organization and its mission to enrich the soul, inspire the mind, and delight the senses.
To the City of Fremont and Mayor Salwan, thank you for celebrating this milestone with us and for your continued support of the arts. From attending our concerts to recognizing the work of our organization, your involvement means so much to our Bay Philharmonic family.
